How to Unlink Instagram Accounts
Managing multiple Instagram accounts can be convenient, but there are times when you may need to unlink a specific account to manage your social media presence better. Follow these steps to seamlessly remove an Instagram account from being linked to your main account.
- First, open the Instagram app on your mobile device.
- Go to your profile by tapping on your profile icon located at the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Tap on the three-line menu in the top right corner to access the settings.
- Select Account Center from the menu to manage linked accounts with Instagram and Facebook.
- In the Account Center, tap on ‘Logging in with accounts.’
- You will see a list of all your linked Instagram and Facebook accounts. Locate the specific Instagram account you wish to unlink.
- Tap on the account you want to unlink. You will notice an option labeled ‘Remove from Account Center.’
- Tap on this option, and a popup will appear asking you to confirm your action.
- Tap Continue. You may be asked to enter your account password for confirmation.
- Once you enter your password and confirm, the selected account will be unlinked.
- To completely remove an Instagram account, go back to your profile, access the three-line menu, and navigate to Settings and Privacy.
- Scroll down and select Log Out.
- Choose the account you wish to log out from and confirm the action.
Congratulations! You have successfully unlinked your Instagram account. You can always re-link it later if necessary.
