Considering a car subscription? As exciting (and life changing) as they can be, we’ll be the first ones to admit that they can be a little confusing. We know you probably have a ton of questions running through your head about Canvas car subscriptions, and we’re here to help!

We shared our “5 Most Frequently Asked Questions About Car Subscriptions” back in September, but we decided to add a few more that we often get.

What if I want to cancel early or extend my subscription? Can I use my car for Uber/Lyft?

Here are 5 more questions you may be asking yourself before diving into the amazing world of car subscriptions:

1. What if I want to cancel early? Can I extend my subscription?

Unlike a lease, you can easily cancel your car subscription whenever you need to. With Canvas, you have the freedom to cancel anytime with only a small cancellation fee to pay. This cancellation fee will be determined based on your subscription length and remaining time left on your subscription at the time of cancellation. 2. Can I use my Canvas car for Uber/Lyft? What about for food delivery like Doordash?

Sorry, but we do not allow our subscribers to drive their Canvas cars for commercial purposes. This includes delivering pizzas, ride-sharing (Uber and Lyft), or other peer-to-peer networks. However, you can share a car between friends for non-commercial uses, consider adding them as additional drivers from the customer dashboard. It’s totally free and you can add as many additional drivers as you want!

3. What if I’m an international customer?

We accept credit from some international countries (Mexico, Canada, India, UK, Australia, Korea, and Brazil), but we still require a US driver’s license to qualify for Canvas. If you have an international license, you can still be added as an additional driver, but you will need someone else to reserve the car and get it for you!

4. How do I get my car serviced?

With Canvas, maintenance isn’t something you pay for. Whether you’re stopping in for a routine oil change, or driving a lot and seeing something due for replacement, you can visit an approved service center knowing that you won’t face unexpected costs to keep the car running smoothly.

Whenever possible, service will be completed the same-day. If you need to leave your car overnight, we’ll cover a rental car for you.

5. What is the difference between a subscription fee and a vehicle fee?

**Vehicle fees **are the price of the car only. They cover the car from the time you receive it to the time it’s returned. Vehicle fees are determined by the model, the make, and the trim of each individual car. The cost includes insurance, maintenance coverage, and roadside assistance. Each vehicle fee covers the 30 days ahead, but after your first month in a car, we’ll prorate any vehicle fees we collected for unused time if you end up returning the car midway through a billing period.

**Subscription fees **are collected for each month you’re on the platform, with lower fees when you choose a longer subscription length. Your subscription includes access to our great customer service support 7 days a week. Plus, you can swap to a different car or skip a month or two of having a car at all.
